Johnny Depp, in full John Christopher Depp II, (born on June 9th, 1963 in Owensboro, Kentucky, U.S.), American actor and musician, who was renowned for his unique and wacky movie choices. Depp had perhaps his biggest and his most notable success as Captain. Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean series.

Earlier life and career

He is the youngest of four children of waitress Betty Sue Depp and civil engineer John Christopher Depp. The family of Depp moved around a lot during his early years, but he eventually settled at Miramar, Florida, in 1970. His mother and father divorced in 1978 when Depp was 15 years old. His mother later got married to Robert Palmer whom Depp has described as an “inspiration”.

Depp’s mother gave him a guitar at the age of 12 and he dropped out of Miramar High school at the age of 16 to become a rock musician. He attempted to go back to school 2 weeks later but his principal asked him to follow his dream of musician instead. In 1980 Depp joined a band called the Kids and after some success he changed his name to six gun method. In addition to musician Depp has worked in some odd jobs as telemarketer. In December 1983 Depp got married to makeup artist Lori Anne Allison she was the sister of the bands bassist and singer. The kids split up before signing a any record deal and Depp began working with band Rock City Angels. He co-wrote a song in album Young man’s Blues. Sadly Depp and Allison filed a divorce in 1985. Depp is of primarily English decent with some French, German and Irish ancestry. He also claims some native Indian ancestry but it’s not documented.

Depp moved to Los Angeles with his band when he was 20 years old. After the band split up, Depp’s then-wife Lori Ann Allison introduced him to actor Nicolas Cage. They became drinking buddies. Depp was inspired to become a actor after reading the biography of James Dean and watching a movie Rebel without a cause. He has said that he “ended up acting by accident”. He landed his first support role as main characters boyfriend and one of Freddy Krueger’s victims in the movie. He became a teenager idol in the late 1980’s, when he played an officer undercover on the high school within the Fox television show 21 Jump Street, which premiered in 1987.

His first movie Cry-Baby, a musical comedy set in the 1950’s. Although not a box-office success upon its release, but over the years it gained a cult classic status. Same year he played main role in Tim Burton’s movie as Edward Scissorhands.

Relationships

Depp as well as makeup artist Lori Anne Allison were married from 1983 to 1985.In the latter half of the 1980s, Depp was engaged to two actors Jennifer Grey and Sherilyn Fenn. Then, in 1990, Depp made a proposal the proposal to Edward Scissorhands co-star Winona Ryder, whom started dating the prior year, in the year she turned 17 years old and 26. They broke up in 1993. Depp later changed his “Winona Forever” tattooed across his left arm replaced with “Wino Forever”. In 1994, and until 1998, Depp was an affair in a relationship with English fashion model Kate Moss. After his split from Moss, Depp began a relationship with French singer and actress Vanessa Paradis, whom he met during shooting The Ninth Gate in France in 1998. There are two of them together, daughter Lily-Rose-Melody Depp (born 1998) along with a son Jack (born in 2002). Depp has said the fact that children have provided him the “real foundation, a solid foundation to stand on in the world, at work and in everything …You are not able to imagine the deep affection that children show. Fatherhood wasn’t a conscious choice. It was a part of the amazing journey it was. It was fate. The math was all in place”. Depp and Paradis declared that they were splitting in June 2012.

Amber Heard

After the break-up of his romance to Vanessa Paradis, Depp began dating actress Amber Heard, with whom the actor been co-starring on The Rum Diary (2011). Depp as well as Heard were married in a civil ceremony February of 2015. Heard sought divorce the month of May and secured a temporary restraining injunction against Depp who claimed in her court statement that he was physically and verbally in their relationship for a long time often when under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Depp rejected these allegations and claimed the couple was “attempting to obtain a quick financial settlement”. A settlement was agreed upon in August of 2016, before the divorce became approved at the beginning of January. Heard rejected the restraining order and issued a joint statement stating they believed that the “relationship was extremely passionate and sometimes unstable, but always bonded by affection. Both parties have not been able to prove false allegations for the purpose of gaining financial profit. There was no intention to cause emotional or physical harm”. Depp paid Heard the divorce settlement of US$7 million. She promised to donate to the ACLU as well as The Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA).
